Welcome
Keith
and family would like to welcome you to the Downe Arms,
Castleton - a country Inn in the heart of the North York
Moors National Park. If you are looking for accommodation,
a place to meet and eat or just a refreshing drink at the
end (or middle) of a walk - come to The Downe Arms. We offer
a friendly service, a range of beers including real ales,
excellent home cooked food and comfortable bedrooms all
with en-suite facilities for B&B.
Set
in the breath-taking and beautiful location of the Upper
Esk Valley in the North Yorkshire Moors (an area that
has become known as "Heartbeat country"),
the Downe Arms is ideally located for weekend breaks and
holidays. The North York Moors National Park Centre
at Danby is just a short walk away and there are plenty
of opportunities for walking, horse riding, cycling
and driving about the area - or even catching the Moors
Bus to more distant parts.
Whitby
with its famous harbour is only 20 minutes drive away and
the Yorkshire east coast towns of Scarborough, Filey and
Bridlington are all within range. Travelling inland, the
historic cities of York and Durham and the vibrant cities
of Leeds and Newcastle are easily accessible.
